Come help us reinvent Mother Goose and Brothers Grimm as the Berks Equine Council
puts its special twist on the bedtime stories that kept you up at night as a kid!  The
enchanted, mystical forest trails of the South Mountain YMCA facility are the setting for a
fanciful journey with your favorite mount through the pages of our BEC storybook!

This BEC event is a great opportunity to ride the trails of South Mountain while testing your
skills and your horse’s through various obstacles along the trail.  It is open to all breeds,
disciplines and ages.  You ride at your own pace.

You are judged and given points at each obstacle and will compete for ribbons and
prizes.   Feel free to come in costume!

The first riders go out at 9 a.m. and the last riders are out at 12 p.m.  Pre-register by
September 3 at $30 or $40 at the gate.  Helmets are required as well as a negative
Coggins test.  Registration forms can be found on the calendar page. For more

The Berks Equine Council hosted its 5th Anniversary Horse Show on August 7-8, 2010. 
It was a gorgeous weekend for a horse show.  The event saw 78 riders on 91 horses
and many spectators and supporters. Thank you again to our generous sponsors, horse
